Marketing executive must have a creative and analytical mind in order to promote the product, brand, and/or the services. They have to put in real hard work and should have high communication skills as they have to constantly deal with the different department heads within the company as well as the consumers and the middle men. Here the work is 100% result-oriented and the impact of the marketing strategies can be understood very quickly and clearly.

A marketing executive's responsibilities include execution of new and existing campaigns and the marketing strategies. They have to do market analysis not only of the products and services of their company, but that of the competitors as well as consumers. Take charge of coordinating and monitoring of all materials for promotion and ensure proper product distribution and production. Organizing and attending the events related to sales promotion and exhibitions. Marketing executives are supposed to do time to time coordination with the managers in order to bring out the campaigns of the organization and reporting the same to the concerned authorities.



There are specific skills that are necessary to be successful in the world of marketing. The first and foremost important skill is having excellent communication, whether it written or verbal. One should not only be able to express better and but should also be able to convince the opponent party with effective communication. They should be able to think creatively and should have skills to organize things effectively. They should have the ability to implement the right techniques, use proper strategies, and formulate and devise plans and strategies. They must be very confident of themselves and their decisions and have the right spirit to drive and inspire others in achieving the goals and target. They should be team players.

A marketing executive should have an eye for detail and be able to deliver under pressure and should be able to meet the targeted deadlines. Must have a fair understanding of financial implications and should be aware of market trends. They should have the ability to make fast decisions and should be well versed with their company's product lines, be it the present ones or from the past. They should be in a position to understand the niche areas, different market segments, and the potential markets. The most important skill a marketing executive should have is to tolerate and bear the criticism of the people and also should withstand irritated customers.

A marketing executive needs to travel at times, though they generally have indoor jobs. In some organizations they have to go on an extensive travel schedule and conduct promotional work outside the office.

There are many career options open for marketing executives. Most of the marketing executive tries to promote them to the management level and to the positions that involve strategic planning. Some of them also move to other areas like market research, advertising, and public relations. Today every industry needs people with marketing skills in order to compete with their competitors.

Generally a bachelor's degree or a master's degree is preferred for the job of a marketing executive with specialization in marketing and business administration. It will add to the value of the candidate if they have done courses on management, accounting, economics, business law, finance, statistics, and mathematics. It is always beneficial to undergo an internship at the time of school. If the candidate is looking for a job in the field of electronics and computers, then a bachelor's degree in science or engineering along with specialized course on business administration would be advantageous. Though a master's degree on business administration is preferred by the employers, however, there is no restriction on the field of higher education. Also, there is no bar on the specification of higher education in entry-level jobs. This is one such career where more stress is given to the persuasive qualities of a candidate and the ability to fetch results than their degrees.

The average salary of an experienced marketing executive is $100,000 per year. Marketing executives have a great future as they are required in all organizations. Their job is directly related to company revenues and therefore they also get bonuses for performing well.
