Chief Financial Officer Jobs
A chief financial officer or CFO heads the financial management of an organization and is primarily responsible for handling financial risks for a business. Other responsibilities of a chief financial officer include taking all financial decisions, financial planning, overseeing accounting, and reporting internal and external monthly financial statements, audits, budgets, and company financials to the board of directors or CEO. A chief financial officer works on financial management policies and monitors the operation of financial management systems. A CFO may also be responsible for complex administrative duties and also for planning, organizing, and directing fiscal activities including purchasing, billing, and general accounting.
Typically a chief financial officer is a qualified accountant. Today MBA's or persons with management degrees are also found heading such executive positions. A CPA qualification is preferred at most organizations. A chief financial officer position usually requires 8+ years of experience in finance/accounting, and some years of progressively responsible management experience. Thorough understanding of finance and problem solving skills are essential.
