Chief Information Officer Jobs
A chief information officer or CIO is typically responsible for the information technology and computer systems that an organization would need to achieve its goals. A CIO is a key player on the executive board who formulates strategic plans. It is the duty of the chief information officer to implement work according to a company’s planned budget. A CIO analyzes and works on existing business processes, and identifies and develops capabilities to use new technology. A chief information officer often reshapes an organizations information technology infrastructure by identifying and exploiting its knowledge resources. A chief information officer usually reports to the CEO.
A chief information officer should have a bachelor's degree. A technical degree such as one in computer science, software engineering, or information systems is usually required. An MBA degree along with a technical qualification is a plus for such jobs. Experience of 8-10 years experience as a technology leader is required for most CIO roles.
