Chief Operating Officer Jobs
A chief operating officer is responsible for overseeing the key operating functions of an organization. Such executive positions are in charge of developing and implementing strategic initiatives. The positions entails responsibility for the development of internal systems and procedures and increasing overall productivity through effective business development. A chief operating officer drives standardization, efficiency, and performance of the existing portfolio and integrate further portfolio pipeline into operations. A member of the senior leadership team, a chief operating officer may report to the chief executive officer or chairman.
A chief operating officer should have a bachelor’s or graduate degree in a specialized field such as business administration, liberal arts, law, etc. A chief operating officer should be highly energetic, and have strong project and people management skills. A minimum of 8 years experience in an operations management role is generally desired for such positions. A successful track record for managing an efficient business may also be an advantage.
