While all of these positions have different duties and requirements, they have some key elements in common. All of the people who are chosen for these positions will have been able to fully show and demonstrate commitment, leadership, and top management skills. Having an executive title and position pays handsome rewards. There is a good salary, job security, job satisfaction, and benefits and bonuses. It also requires a lot of hard work, dedication, and self sacrifice if someone is going to be successful at the executive level.

Applicants for some of the executive openings are able to show that they can work with a team and manage them with confidence. They will be able to clearly articulate what their personal vision of the company is and they have clear and distinct plans and ideas that they can use to accomplish their vision. They can show how their goals and strategies will help their team, the company, and the clients. These people will be good at coming up with creative ideas and solutions instead of using the same ones time and again.

People who are interested in applying for an account director position must be able to work with clients to build and continue good customer relationships. They must know how to address customer or employee grievances when there is conflict or problem between these two groups.

The applicant should be able to identify new client leads and should be able to make effective presentations to all clients. Account director applicants are expected to be able to help create budgets for the department and for individual project assignments. Handling and establishing budgets properly is one of the most difficult and time consuming tasks for account directors.

These people are expected to work closely with clients and attend meetings with these clients while working on specific projects and proposals. Account directors are also responsible for keeping all team members on track and within the prescribed budget allowances. They should also have a very strong knowledge about marketing techniques, which include web marketing, event marketing, strategic planning, and guerilla marketing tactics.

Account directors are always careful to stay on top of new trends and new concepts in marketing and attend meetings and seminars in order to advance professionally. These directors are also responsible for helping their team learn and grow through available classes and professional training.

People who are applying for account director jobs should have had an adequate amount of experience in account management, marketing, and advertising. Employers are not looking necessarily at the amount of years of experience as the type and quality of experience and the specific duties handled. There may be some well-qualified candidates with less years of on the job experience but who demonstrate that they were in charge of many projects that were handled well during a short amount of time.
