Director Med/Surg FT','7419-2409','Vaughan Regional Medical Center','!*!The Nursing Division Manager is responsible for promoting and maintaining quality patient care through effective management of the activities of the total patient care services as outlined in the Mission, and Guiding Principles. Communication is vital between the Department Manager, staff, physicians, Supervisor and CNO. The Manager monitors activities of human resources management, patient care management, and material management for the delivery of patient care. The Manager functions as an educator, resource person, and guidance to the staff in his or her department. The Manager will assist with patient care as required. The Manager is responsible for the department/departments under his/her leadership 24 hours a day in regard to the Quality of Care, Staffing, and Fiscal Matters. Decisions will be based on Hospital Administration Policies, Personnel Policies and Policies of the individual department. The Manager will direct and guide patient centered care and insure optimal, care and service in accordance with physician orders.
Reports to: Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)','!*!Education: Registered Nurse, currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alabama. BLS & ACLS certification required, PALS certification preferred. BSN preferred.
Experience: Three (3) years clinical experience in an acute care facility. Prefer at least one (1) year of management in a healthcare environment.
Skills: Must possess thorough understanding of the patient care process, TJC standards, EMTALA, Federal Guidelines, and performance improvement process. Must have excellent communication skills, written and oral, excellent customer relation skills, and a desire to lead and make a difference.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods, walk at least 6 hours per day, lift/carry 50 pounds, hear alarms and telephone rings, distinguish colors, perform repetitive tasks/motions, have good eye/hand/foot coordination, and have clear vision at 20 or more feet with or without vision corrective device.','Nursing Management','Alabama-Selma','','Full-time','Day Job','Director Med/Surg FT
