Responsible for the strategic direction, financial

performance, operational deployment and evaluation of all revenue cycle

activities including patient financial clearance (at admission and ongoing),

billing, collections, payer analysis, and compliance. 


Essential Functions:

Leads revenue recovery team in building plans to support

operational departments.  Achieves best

practice performance through strong analytical capabilities, process

improvement identification, and technology enhancements.

Ensures all department functions, policies and procedures

are updated and maintained, are aligned with best practice, and comply with all


Provides support and participates with Executive Leadership

in the implementation of systems, processes, and procedures to ensure

regulatory compliance, and maintaining an awareness of changes in healthcare

matters that directly or indirectly impact the revenue cycle. 

Identifies systemic issues that are impacting AR

performance, develop solutions working collaboratively with other business

units, and implements process changes. 

Collaborates with accounting to establish bad debt reserves

based on payor performance and detailed knowledge of payor issues.

Develops relationships with major payors to assist in the

resolution of outstanding AR.   

Demonstrates understanding of key revenue cycle areas;

including, but not limited to: insurance verification, and authorization,

billing, collections, denials/underpayments, and customer service (internal and


Ensures all systems used in the revenue cycle are

interfacing appropriately and are optimized based on needs.  This includes working with outside vendors to

enhance existing systems and prioritize projects based on the business’ ROI.

Develops relationships with field leadership that promotes

collaboration and teamwork ensuring the revenue cycle is operating efficiently

and effectively to minimize write offs and maximize cash collections.

Monitors and evaluates employee performance.  Holds employees accountable for the

attainment of defined goals and objectives. 

Executes effective performance redirection when needed.  Develops employees through coaching,

mentoring, and formal on the job training and development opportunities. 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


leadership and problem-solving skills

Demonstrated experience and accomplishments in healthcare

revenue cycle management. 

Demonstrated experience in overseeing a 50 employee team in

a health care system.   

','!*!Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or similar field of study. Ten (10 ) years’ progressive leadership experience in the revenue cycle of a health care system.  Preferred: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field.   Travel:  Moderate degree of travel.','!*!Additional Qualifications:
