Who are we?
Since its founding in 2004, KIND has been on a mission to make the world a little kinder one snack and one act at a time. KIND was born out of its founder’s desire to create a snack that was healthy and tasty, wholesome and convenient. What began as a line of premium Fruit & Nut bars sparked the creation of an entirely new healthier snacking category. Today, KIND has a family of snacks that offer solutions for a variety of different occasions.
We love making snacks that delight people’s taste buds and fuel their bodies, and we also love inspiring kindness in communities everywhere. As a not-only-for-profit company, we’ve always believed that there’s more to business than just profit.
We’re looking for passionate collaborators to help us become the foremost leader in health & wellness and positively impact society along the way. If you’re looking to be a part of an inspiring, energetic and entrepreneurial environment, you’ve found the right place.
What you’ll do
KIND has an exciting and ambitious Strategic Plan that will enable us to take our growth and performance to the next level. We are looking for a Sr. Director, PMO and Strategy Execution to play a critical role in bringing to life our ambition. You will lead a team of Project Managers across Portfolio, Program and Project Management in the areas of innovation, productivity and sales initiatives. This role will provide you with many opportunities to make a visible and meaningful impact. As the Sr. Director, PMO and Strategy Execution you will be responsible for:
PMO (Project Management Office) and Portfolio Management
Create, operationalize and lead KIND’s PMO
Activate portfolio management best practices; assess the project portfolio (for size / feasibility / ease / sufficiency to achieve our targets), recommend priorities and trade-offs to ensure we meet (or exceed) our goals, recommend resource allocation, etc.
Program and Project Management
Drive continuous improvement of our project management practices
Refine our project stage gate model to drive value, speed and quality (cost effectively), especially for innovation
Be a player / coach by selectively taking on a project manager role, specifically:
Scope and plan projects (set goals and objectives, create project plans, determine resources and budgets, identify risks and contingency planning, develop a change management plan and set KPIs) and
Execute with excellence (drive owners / contributors to deliver on time and within budget, manage stakeholders / communication, anticipate risks and identify mitigation approaches, manage the budget, monitor progress / KPIs)
Dive into KINDs operational and commercial activities to be a subject matter expert to push the thinking (vs. just pushing a timeline)
Lead and develop a team of PM professionals by bringing best practices, driving critical thinking, leading teams to search for non-standard solutions when required
Build robust knowledge of capabilities and capacity across functions
What you’ll bring to KIND
Proven skills and results in Portfolio, Program and Project Management, specifically in CPG (food)
Distinctive people skills with a proven track record of driving change, influencing (especially at a higher level) and stakeholder management
Strong organization skills, especially managing complex projects
Outstanding written and oral communication skills (e.g., clear and compelling “story”, with accurate insights and a well thought out recommendation)
Strong problem solving in both ambiguous and tactical situations and a bias for action (i.e., you ask “how can we?” vs. “can we?”)
Experience managing small teams with limited resources in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders
Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform in a dynamic environment and comfort working in ambiguity
Entrepreneurial and creative solution orientated mindset, with the ability to ‘think like as an owner', be flexible
Forward thinking to look around the corner and see what is coming
Demonstrated commitment to excellence, high quality standards, and attention to detail
Proficiency in PM tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smart Sheet), Excel and PowerPoint
A team player and change champion (proven experiences of leading other to think and differently according to the business needs)
Highly organized with the ability to organize others around you
Driven, resourceful, curious, and a fast learner
Uncompromising in your professionalism and ethical conduct
