Executive, Manager, Healthcare
Montefiore seeks a Director of Grants to seek grant funding to support progress toward the organization's goals. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Regulatory and Legislative Policy. As a member of a small team, this position offers an excellent opportunity to be involved in a wide range of projects related to policy issues at the national, state, and local levels.
*Identifying grant opportunities and drafting grant applications to support Montefiore's goals. *Briefing Montefiore staff on grant opportunities and issues. *Convening and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to develop grant proposals. *Conducting background research on the extent of policy problems and potential solutions. *Identifying and tracking key issues and initiatives to help inform how Montefiore should respond to emerging issues. *Representing Montefiore at external meetings and conferences. *Performing other duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
Candidates should be able to demonstrate success obtaining significant federal and/or state grants. Prior academic and/or work experience should also demonstrate the ability to understand and synthesize complicated health policy issues, manage projects from start to finish, produce written analytic products, and show an affinity for working with data and statistics.
Other qualifications include:
*A graduate degree in Public Policy, Health Economics, Health Services Research, or a related field is required. *5+ years of relevant work experience as a policy analyst/researcher within a health care provider, health-oriented research/policy organization, a government agency, think-tank, foundation, or consulting firm. *Understanding of New York State health policy issues and familiarity with the policymaking processes at the State level. *Comfort with data analysis, including experience with statistical programming software such as SAS. *Experience writing memos, reports and/or peer-reviewed journal manuscripts. *Exceptional communication skills—both written and oral—and the ability to translate research into policy-relevant and actionable messages. *Superb project management and organizational skills, including attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. *Ability to lead small teams and to complete tasks with limited oversight and supervision. *Ability to interact with high-level individuals and organizations. *Exceptional interpersonal skills: collegial, energetic, flexible, motivated, and able to develop productive relationships with colleagues, grantees, consultants, and others who contribute to program development and management. *Demonstrated maturity and seasoned judgment. *Ability to make decisions and justify recommendations.
