Description
The Director, IT Strategy Advancement is responsible for evaluating Humana's technology needs and opportunities, and working with the IT organization's senior leaders in developing and tracking short-term and long-term organizational strategies and priorities. The Director will work closely with the Chief Information Officer in crafting executive messages to Humana's Management Team and the Board of Directors about our technology strategy and related programs, as well as driving tracking and reporting of key operational and strategic IT initiatives. The Director will also play a role in driving adoption of key IT learning, communications elements, and Agile ways of working that enable successful execution of IT strategies.
Responsibilities

Humana's IT organization is undergoing a multi-year transformation journey to develop a cloud-based and platform-centric technology ecosystem while transitioning to agile ways of working. The Director, IT Strategy Advancement will provide strategic guidance, thought leadership, and tactical support to our senior IT leaders, and work more broadly with leaders throughout the enterprise, as they deliver transformational initiatives that address some of our most important opportunities and challenges. This person will also drive tracking and reporting against key IT strategies and initiatives to promote visibility, transparency, and accountability in program performance and drive value delivery. Additionally, this person will drive activation of critical initiatives and drive activation of Humana's IT Learning/Communications and Agile Transformation Offices.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader who has worked in strategy/operations at a top tier consulting firm or in a large health care corporation. He/she will have a demonstrated ability to influence peers and business leaders. This person must be comfortable with ambiguity and able to work collaboratively with key leaders to shape the priorities and agenda for the Information Technology organization. He/she also will be effective at multi-tasking and possess keen program and change management skills to balance an evolving set of priorities and deadlines.
Job Responsibilities:
Using an enterprise-wide perspective, create a clear view of the IT strategy and future state, and convert strategy into initiatives while ensuring consensus and execution. Inspire others to embrace and advance the strategy as it evolves and is realized
Significant involvement in prioritization and activation of IT-wide strategic investments
Deliver on a wide range of short term and long term strategic and transformational initiatives
Deconstruct, analyze, and document organizational problems or opportunities, create strategies/action plans to address, and drive follow-ups to promote successful execution
Manage high-profile, high-impact strategy initiatives from developing an approach to delivering recommendations and final deliverables
Develop high quality analysis and deliverables that clearly frame organizational objectives, issues / challenges, and articulate compelling, insightful findings, conclusions, and recommendations
Conduct interviews, working sessions, and report-outs with leaders across the company; document key ideas and actions during sessions to drive follow-up actions
Support CIO in communicating value and impact of IT initiatives to broader Humana organization
Job Qualifications:
BA/BS, MBA, or other relevant degrees
3 - 5 years of full-time work experience with a top tier consulting firm or health plan, with meaningful experience managing a client engagement
Demonstrated ability to manage engagements from conception to final deliverables
Proven experience developing board-ready material and planning for strategic annual meetings for executives
Proven experience setting priorities and defining the future direction of an organization (i.e. competitive analysis, strategy road map, strategic investment prioritization)
Strong business acumen and problem solving skills, with proven ability to perform complex qualitative and quantitative analysis
Experience working directly with and presenting to Executive level management
Highly collaborative, flexible, and team-oriented working style
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication and presentation skills, with proven experience writing and delivering presentations to members of senior executive teams, including CEO
Demonstrates attention to detail and ability to capture key takeaways and activate next steps
Demonstrated ability to interact with senior leadership internally and externally
Preferred Qualifications
MBA, PhD, or graduate degree in a management field, with outstanding academic credentials
Prior technology or digital transformation experience, preferably in the healthcare sector
