Come join our team!Job Summary:This job serves as the primary fundraising strategist and leader for the Highline Medical Center Foundation, raising funds to support the operations and patients of the facility.  Work includes developing and recommending to the Board, strategies, policies and procedures to grow and sustain an effective and efficient philanthropic organization that effectively serves Highline Medical Center needs and furthers the mission and objectives of the facility.  Work includes managing daily operations, including oversight of financial, program and community matters and directing/evaluating the work of subordinate staff.An incumbent provides strategic direction and long-range/short-range planning in growing giving programs while supporting the greater development and campaign goals of the organization, and performs activities involving research, identification, cultivation and solicitation of potential donors by qualifying their interest and discerning their capacity to make charitable gifts to the Highline Foundation.   Work requires extensive knowledge of fund-raising principles, standards and practices and of the interplay of legal, administrative and interpersonal elements involved in the major/annual gift giving processes.  Also requires exceptional interpersonal skills and an understanding of the needs and interest of planned gift donors in order to develop/maintain meaningful relationships and provide them with the means and opportunity to fulfill their philanthropic objectives.Essential Functions:Develops/recommends (for Board approval) strategies, plans, policies and procedures focused on growing and sustaining a philanthropic Foundation that effectively serves the needs of the Highline Medical Center; develops and maintains relationships with key constituencies in support of fundraising activities and serves as Foundation spokesperson. Develops, directs and evaluates comprehensive annual and/or multi-year fundraising plans which identify strategic vision/objectives/targeted goals and outline operational approaches/tactics for performing the philanthropic work necessary to effectively support the Highline Medical Center Foundation; presents plan(s) to the Foundation’s Board of Directors for approval. Oversees development and implementation of timely and effective communication strategies and programs in support of solicitation and fundraising activities.  Directs and evaluates Foundation operations, including establishing operating budget/financial procedures; oversees and evaluates the work of subordinate staff in accordance with the content, spirit and intent of applicable internal/external regulations and standards for human resource management.Performs related duties as required.','!*!Education/Work Experience RequirementsBachelor’s degree in English, journalism, marketing, communications, public relations, business administration or related disciplineSeven years of closely related fundraising (or similar field) work experience, that demonstrates the attainment of the requisite job knowledge, skills and abilities, including three years in a foundation or development office.  Major gift, planned giving and capital campaign experience is preferred.Or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.Licensure/CertificationCertified Fundraising Executive Certification (CFRE) is preferred','We’re an equal opportunity employer.
