Vice President, Public relations jobs are found in any large organization that needs to interact with the media on a regular basis. This can include educational institutions, government organizations and various types of private industry. The public relations director has to develop and implement his company’s public relations programs. He also has to develop a capable team that can be effective in day to day PR work as well as in times of crises.

The public relations director has to oversee media relations, community relations, internal communications and also investor relations. These directors usually report to the vice president or anther such high level executive. The pay for vice president, public relations jobs in 2008 was around $100,005, with over half of them earning over $90,000. The basic educational requirement to get this job is to have a bachelor’s degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations, although there are also journalism and broadcasting majors in the field.
