The Division of Academic Affairs at the State University of New York College at Oneonta seeks innovative and experienced applicants for the position of Director of the Teaching, Learning, and Technology Center (TLTC). The TLTC serves as a center active in the integration of technology into teaching, research, innovation and faculty development and success. The Director of TLTC provides visionary leadership in supporting and furthering the academic enterprise by implementing and maintaining academic systems and developing and offering training and support in using academic systems and developing a robust offering of instructional outreach and engagement. The Director reports to the Library Director, and collaborates closely with myriad stakeholders, including the Faculty Center Director, the CIO, and Academic Affairs leadership.

SUNY Oneonta enrolls about 6,500 students who pursue bachelor's or master's degrees or certificates in one of 60-plus academic programs. Known as an exemplary residential campus that values inclusion, service and sustainability, SUNY Oneonta is a nurturing community where students grow intellectually, thrive socially, and live purposefully.

The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to expand and sustain best practices and pedagogical research as well as develop and carry forward a communication strategy that articulates the Center's activities, resources, and vision, and promotes its visibility. As an important partner to Information Technology Services, the Director will complement and support key information technology systems and SUNY-wide goals and plans that create effective and meaningful student engagement, high impact learning practices, and effective development and review of technology use in teaching and research. The Director of the TLTC in conjunction with a dedicated staff of four members supports and sustains a culture of faculty engagement and technology innovation in learning and research. Job Description:

Duties include but are not limited to:

Supervise TLTC staff, administer TLTC resources and budget.

Enrich and expand the existing community of practice that fosters dialogue among faculty regarding the integration of technology to improve teaching, learning, research, and scholarly activities.

Design, implement and collaborate on academic systems to enhance the curriculum, student learning, and faculty success.

Perform dynamic outreach to faculty and departments to ascertain specific faculty and departmental needs.

Develop and offer ongoing learning technology and pedagogical professional development, training, and programming to faculty.

Programmatically assess TLTC operations.

Developing and supporting innovative curriculum and program design through the deployment of technologies.

Support online and hybrid teaching practices.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree.

Demonstrated experience in leading initiatives that incorporate best practices in online learning.

Minimum of three years of experience leading faculty development programs (e.g., learning technologies across disciplines, instructional design, new faculty mentorship and development, innovative teaching), preferably in a college-level Teaching and Learning Center or equivalent.

Demonstrated experience in learning management systems management.

Demonstrated administrative experience that has involved planning and assessment, budget and resource management, program evaluation and supervision.

Proven record of relationship building to support broader institutional goals.

Understanding of and commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion efforts through both curriculum and faculty development.

Preferred:

Experience serving diverse populations.

Demonstrated experience actively participating in the development and implementation of learning technology systems.

ABD or PhD.

Ability to complete duties listed
